As a child, I imagined myself a painter. But the required photography class in my high school honors art program brushed those plans aside. From the moment I held my first 35mm camera, I viewed the world in a completely different manner, in images. And I wanted to share what I saw with others.
The light, an angle, the color, a design, the beauty of the everyday – all so visible that they often disappear. But the camera reminds me to slow down and see. And the immediacy of photography allows me to capture an instant, a fleeting glance or a split-second interaction so they don’t fade into the ether. Instead, they are caught in a click that preserves them forever, and are presented here.
